OM in the Wild – welcome, baby girl
The assignment:
an animal-themed baby shower in pink
The goal:
keep it light
Tricks to pulling off the look:
1. Use soft pinks
2. Stick with one accent metal
Selecting softer pinks
The host’s home provided the perfect light and airy setting for the occasion, so I wanted to ensure the feeling was preserved by avoiding “hotter” pinks. There were several opportunities to incorporate lighter pinks into the look – the cupcake icing, table runners, florals, champagnes flutes, and cookies. The softer colors also provided a backdrop for the “baby” animals sprinkled into the cupcakes, cookies, florals (my favorite), the invite, and yard sign.
Using one accent metal
Gold was an easy, obvious choice for this look because the host’s home already featured beautiful gold accents all around. The scalloped plates and napkins not only provided a light, delicate feel but also featured gold rims that worked nicely with the table scatter, champagne bottles, and the muted tones of the balloon garland and burlap table runners. Together, each of these elements created the setting for a good time. Guests enjoyed bubbly (along with sweet and savory treats) while playing games and showering the mom-to-be with gifts.
