An elegant rainbow birthday
The assignment:
a colorful RAINBOW birthday
The goal:
use as many colors as possible, incorporate themed details, and, most importantly, keep it elegant
Tricks to pulling off this look:

2. Make everything else white
3. Avoid the use of pre-packaged rainbow decor

Choosing key areas to accentuate the colors
The accent areas for this party were the balloons, flowers, and cakes. Other smaller focus areas were the party favors and wearables (sunglasses and light-up necklaces) for each guest. The best part about bringing your vision to life is that almost anything can be a color focus area (paper products, table linens, guest attire, sweet treats, etc.) Several balloon kits (linked at the end of this post) were used to create the look because one single kit did not contain the variety of colors I wanted.

Making everything else white
The interior of my home is already white (so that helped a lot) but to pull off the vision, I needed to make everything else white. This included table linens, paper products, cookies, macarons, AND our guests’ attire. This provided the perfect setting for the colors to POP!
Avoiding pre-packaged rainbow decor
Pre-packaged decor limits the number of colors in your rainbow and makes it harder to achieve a cohesive, vibrant look. By making my own rainbow (instead of using pre-packaged decor) I was able to use SO MANY COLORS that looked beautiful in the all-white setting.
